Many of you have heard by now of the horrible attack against Lierre Keith at the 15th Annual San Francisco Anarchist Bookfair on Saturday.
Lierre Keith, author of the book The Vegetarian Myth: Food, Justice, and Sustainability*, was assaulted with a cayenne-pepper-laced pie in the face.
And if that was not bad enough, her attackers were cheered on during the assault, and they and/or their followers are rejoicing over it publicly. I’m not sure I know a word bad enough to describe it! As I write this, “Horrifying” actually sounds a little weak to me.
Many bloggers are rallying their support by putting up posts encouraging their readers to support Lierre Keith by buying copies of her book!! Since I already have it, I would like to buy a copy for somebody who doesn’t already have one…
