My Six Week Cure: Week 2 Results
Today, I have completed the SECOND WEEK of the program, outlined in:
The 6-Week Cure for the Middle-Aged Middle: The Simple Plan to Flatten Your Belly Fast! by Dr. Michael Eades and Dr. Mary Dan Eades
Two Weeks Down – Four To Go!!!
I have lost a total of 6 pounds and 1.5 inches from my belly!
My Fasting Blood Glucose has dropped by 85 mg/dL!
Losing 6 pounds and 1.5 inches of belly fat in two weeks is fantastic!
I think what I am most happy about on the Six-Week Cure, is that my Blood Glucose Levels are going down quite steadily, without taking any of the toxic meds. My lowered BGL is a great indication that the liver cleanse part of the program is really working and my insulin sensitivity is returning.
I have long believed that I could find a better way (than the meds) to overtake diabetes before it completely overtook me. I also believed that Low Carbing was part of that answer. And now I think I have finally found enough of the pieces to really get it under control. The Six-Week Cure has been one of those final pieces of the puzzle.
I’m Not Too SAD
My Sagittal Abdominal Diameter (SAD) measurements still look exactly the same as before. If we look at the math for a second, a circle that has a circumference of 51 inches will have a diameter of 16.25 inches – almost exactly the same as my Standing SAD. If the circumference shrinks to 49.5 inches, as my waist has, the diameter will become 15.75 inches, a difference of only 1/2 inch.
These SAD measurements are kind of difficult for me to take. The biggest problem I have is being very sway backed – it is hard for me to flatten my back against a surface to take the measurement without tightening my abs at least a little. Then, I try to relax my abs to get an accurate measurement, but it doesn’t seem to be very precise. I’m not going to be concerned about this! I am sure my SAD measurements will change when I lose more circumference.
Pressing On
So, on to Weeks 3 and 4: the meat weeks. Now I will be eating what the Eades’ call a nearly all-meat diet for two weeks. I am allowed to eat meat and eggs in amounts that satisfy my hunger (hopefully without overeating!), and little else. This is a Very Low Carb, and even pretty close to a Zero Carb, diet.
I decided not to take any pictures today. I was really excited about posting weekly update pictures, but let’s face it: I weight over 250 pounds! A picture will not show a 5-pound weight loss. Let’s hold the photos until we can see a more dramatic difference. I’ll take a progress picture near the end of week 4, right before I leave on my trip to the UK.
Here are my measurements for this week

Lovin’ It Low Carb
Ramona Denton

meat n eggs do a body good!
i pretty much have gone vlc since i was stalled on every other plan. last night i did the unthinkable and sauteed a 1/2 c of spinach with my eggs.
one note: when you do without veggies for a days, they take on a scrumptious appeal that once was reserved for chocolate and frenchfries. i actuallly felt like i was getting a treat when i ate my spinach last night.
the uk? wow!
Hi Rachel. Great to hear from you!!
I am leaning in the VLC direction for the longterm. As soon as I’m done trying on the 6-week cure for a while, I’m probably going to settle down into VLC and IFing.
I’m really looking forward to my trip. The first week is business, but then I’ll be on vacation for a few more days. Should be fun!!
Been searching for awhile for something like this great info very useful.
